Wave brings Life to Samsung App Store

September 14th, 2010 by Best Mobile Contracts

The Samsung Wave is a very successful smart phone, there is simply no denying that. Considering how much this handset had to face off when it first came out and in the succeeding months of sales, it is a wonder that the handset even took off in the first place. But with the Wave not among the top five selling mobile devices in the UK and with new installments in the series coming soon, we can pretty much expect this Bada toting phone series to keep pushing through in the years to come.

Anyway, getting into focus about those things that the Wave had to deal with; the device was simply taking on the entire phone industry when it launched. First off, the Bada operating system is practically unknown. Sure, the device was previewed and had gotten good comments during the Mobile World Congress. But it certainly lacked the reputation of the Google Android or the BlackBerry OS. The Wave was also taking on plenty of other handsets, particularly a bunch of new Android devices and the launch of the iPhone 4.

But the Wave managed to sell well. In fact, it sold so well that it even managed to bring more support and interest to the Bada OS and bring in even more apps for the Samsung App store. According to reports, over 14 million apps have been downloaded by Bada users.

The Wave is an impressive smart phone that matches up with most of today’s modern handsets (it comes with a 1GHz CPU, a 5 mega pixel camera and the usual features). One big advantage that the device has is the 3 inch super AMOLED touch screen display that provides the handset with impressive visual quality. The screen is able to produce images so sharp and crisp that many find it comparable even to Apple’s new Retina display technology.
