Bada Smartphones Samsung Wave 723 and Wave 2 Pro Offers Coming Soon

October 4th, 2010 by Caroline

On the verge of launching in Spain, two of the latest Wave handsets from Samsung are anticipated to land in the UK shortly.

Prices have been revealed for the Wave 723 and Wave 2 Pro models, as they are currently detailed on The Phone House Spain. Both phones feature a 3.2 inch touchscreen and the slightly lower-spec Wave 2 Pro mobile phone is going on sale in Europe for €239 while the Wave 723 will cost €279.

Following the successful footsteps of the original Wave, which recently passed the 1-million-sales mark in Europe, the Wave 2 Pro is a QWERTY version of the Wave 2 phone – and both are cheaper alternatives to the first Wave. Wave 2 Pro offers also feature support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity but 3G is lacking. There is a 3.2-megapixel camera onboard with video so you can take photos and upload online to social networking sites like Facebook, from this device.

Only announced early in September, the Wave 723 also runs on the Bada OS but features a different design from the other Waves. The back is metallic and the phone has a leather flip cover to protect the 723’s screen.

At the time of the phone’s launch, Simon Stanford, Head of Samsung Mobile UK & Ireland, said: “The launch of this device clearly underlines our commitment to smartphone products on different platforms and forms part of our strategy to deliver a wide range of handsets designed to suit a multitude of users.”

With both Wave 2 Pro and Wave 723 deals landing any minute in Spain, we’re hopeful of a UK release soon. We’ll keep you posted on a launch date and details of pricing, and in the meantime you can read more on, and share your opinions of, the devices over in our Pro 2 reviews and Wave 723 customer ratings pages.
