With only a couple of weeks left until November, it is hard to ignore the excitement regarding the upcoming launch of the Motorola Milestone 2 that is headed straight for the UK. According to reports, the Android smart phone will be available on store shelves starting on the 17th of November.
Right now, the device is already available on a pre-order basis for those who do not wish to gamble on the device suddenly running out of stock. In any case, this smart phone is definitely a recommended purchase to any Android smart phone fan.
Of course, being the sequel to the Motorola Milestone has its ups and downs –with the biggest down being the aesthetic design on the Milestone 2; while the original Milestone had a rougher look to it (a somewhat unpolished, futuristic looking feel with all the hard edges), the new Milestone goes for the sleeker, shinier look. At the very least, the edges are not as overly curved as most of today’s devices are.
One again, one of the best features of this handset is the slide QWERTY keyboard –which was a major milestone bought by the first Milestone. This is because prior to Motorola’s handset, there was quite a shortage and high demand for an Android smart phone with a physical keyboard.
Specs wise, the Milestone 2 is a definitely upgrade beyond the original smart phone. The new handset packs a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, a 5 mega pixel snapper, 8GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM and of course, the Google Android operating system, The device is already using version 2.2 Froyo so there will be no need to wait for an update until the release of 3.0 Gingerbread.
Currently the device is available SIM free for 449 GBP. For a handset of this caliber, that is a pretty decent price tag.
