Nokia C7 Offers Start Shipping Globally

October 11th, 2010 by Caroline

Hot in pursuit of the original Symbian^3 smartphone, the Nokia N8, the C7 has begun shipping around the world.

The Nokia C7 is a contemporary mobile phone which features a stainless steel and glass design, and a 3.5 inch AMOLED touch-sensitive display. Equipped with functions for social networking, the C7 shows updates from sites like Twitter and Facebook on the home page and email accounts such as Ovi, Yahoo and Windows Live Hotmail can be accessed with just one press.

Jo Harlow, head of smartphones at Nokia said: “The Nokia C7 is our second smartphone based on the new version of Symbian to hit the market. Designed specifically with the style-conscious consumer in mind, the Nokia C7 also brings excellent social networking abilities, making it perfect for people who want to check-in and stay up to date.”

The C7 has an 8-megapixel snapper onboard for capturing high-quality images together with HD-quality videos. While this isn’t the super-impressive 12-megapixels of the Nokia N8, this camera is advanced compared to many smartphones – for example, the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S have a 5-megapixel camera, and the Desire HD matches the C7’s 8-megapixels.

In addition to all the pre-installed apps and features of this Nokia device, you can access the Ovi Store on the C7 to download further apps, games and videos.

Nokia C7 offers are estimated to be in the region of €335 pre-taxes and subsidies, although contracts will likely include the handset for free or significantly less. In the UK, Three, O2 and T-Mobile are all confirmed carriers – and details of pricing are anticipated shortly.

The affordable touchscreen-keypad Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type is set to launch in the coming weeks also and offers an alternative to the high-end C7 and N8 mobiles.
