Windows Phone 7 Dell Venue Pro Offers Landing in UK on 8 November

October 26th, 2010 by Caroline

The Dell Venue Pro smartphone is expected to launch in the UK on Monday 8 November – so fans of this Microsoft-based device only have days to wait.

The Venue Pro is a high-end handset with a 4.1 inch AMOLED display that is protected from scratches by a Gorilla glass screen. And the UK price of this Dell phone is high-end too, costing £500 for a SIM-free model. Mind you, this compares fairly well with the Nokia N8 and the HTC Desire HD phones, which are offered for a similar, albeit slightly less expensive, contract-free price.

Dell describes the Venue Pro as being “for everyday people with a diverse range of full and busy lives” who “need to stay connected, be productive and keep in touch with colleagues, friends and family”. The phone is designed “to be a multi-purpose always-connected device to help people be more efficient, always connected and entertained”.

This is the only Windows Phone 7 smartphone that has a portrait slider design and a full QWERTY keyboard. Highlights of this phone include the People Hub for effortless social networking through sites like Facebook, and Games Hub. This is pre-loaded with more than 50 games, which you can play with friends and keep track of the scores. For further entertainment, the Venue Pro offers the options to listen to music and watch videos on the move.

Of course, as this phone runs on Microsoft’s OS, there is support to view, edit and share documents, as well as stay in touch with colleagues via the SharePoint Workspace Mobile feature.

You can pre-order Dell Venue Pro deals from the online UK retailer eXpansys for £499.99. We’ll let you know which network providers will be offering this phone, and confirm the official UK launch date, as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can discover more and share your views over in our Venue Pro customer reviews section.
