Panasonic has now joined up the likes of HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and many other major phone manufacturers as they announced that they are currently working on new Android smart phones. The reports just came in just recently and from the looks of it, the Japanese manufacturer is pretty excited to bring out its new devices as soon as possible. Despite the fact that Japan has been ruled by flip out clamshell devices for the longest time, the impact of pure touch screen devices is hard to deny.
Virgin Media announced the new Nokia 6700 Slide and they are coming out with an exclusive purple-pink version of the handset. The candy bar phone may not look like much, but it still manages to pack in a 5 mega pixel camera for all of you who want a little extra in what is otherwise a stylish but mostly practical device.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12 Anzu is by all means a next generation handset. And from the looks of it, SE will be pushing to release this device as early as they can. While the 800MHz is certainly not quite up to the new Snapdragon standards, the high end 4.3 inch display and 12 mega pixel will certainly make this device something to look for among media fans.
In other Sony Ericsson news, the XPERIA X10 will be receiving a quick update that will enable the capacitive touch screen display’s multitouch feature. For those unfamiliar with the X10, the handset is not able to handle gestures such as pinch. This new update will certainly make browsing on this Android handset a lot easier.
Palm has taken a heavy blow with the recent announcement that the Pre 2 will not be carried by local network operators. With buyers limited to purchasing the phone SIM free, Palm stands to miss out on making sales through contract plans. HP has failed with marketing the device properly and changes will have to be made.
