It seems that both Thales and Huawei are competing to bring mobile network and internet access to London’s tube system. For the longest time, many have wondered when the feature will actually be implemented. Many expect the system to be up and running by the start of the Olympic season.

HTC has ousted Apple’s iPhone as the top most searched for smart phone brand online. The announcement has just come recently and is bringing even more interest to the HTC brand. While Apple is still enjoying superiority in sales, the strong market demand for HTC might just change that as well.

Vodafone UK has confirmed that the HTC Desire Z and the Nokia C7 smart phones are already part of their mobile handset lineup. Those curious about the two devices will have a choice of contracts and subsidized prices to choose from.

Speaking of Nokia, the Finnish phone maker has confirmed that another handset; the Nokia X7-00 smart phone will be launched pretty soon. This new phone shares a lot in similarity to the Nokia N8 Symbain^3 handset with the difference mostly being the 8 mega pixel camera (the N8 has a 12 mega pixel camera), and the fact that the X7-00 has four speakers up front. Expect to see this media playback based smart phone to come around in the next couple of months.

Motorola’s newest Android smart phone with a physical QWERTY slider keyboard is finally UK bound. While it certainly took its time (as did the original Milestone), the Milestone 2 is now going to be available locally. At almost 380GBP, this is one handset that will certainly tickle the fancy of many an Android smart phone fan. Sadly, the rough and rugged look of the original has been replaced by a sleeker, smoother form. Online retailer eXpansys is most likely to be the first offer the handset to the public.
