Motorola Milestone 2 on O2 Launches

November 8th, 2010 by Caroline

The Milestone successor has launched in the UK and is offered on various O2 deals.

The Motorola Milestone 2 boasts a 3.7 inch touchscreen combined with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard for effortless communication. If you like to have the choice between tapping onscreen and typing on a physical keypad, this phone’s design will appeal. Extra touches on this phone like the anti-reflective coating on the screen and the Swype technology for messaging, make staying in touch even easier.

Similar in looks to the original Milestone, the Milestone 2 benefits from some internal enhancements.

The 600MHz processor has been increased to 1GHz on this Motorola mobile phone, making the features run that bit faster. With 5-megapixels, the inbuilt camera captures the same good quality images but now supports HD video recording. A third big improvement is the internal memory which is 8GB, expanding to 32GB with a microSD card – complementing all the communication and media features of this handset nicely.

Just like the original Milestone was one of the first to run Google’s newest OS at the time, the Milestone 2 runs on the Android 2.2 platform. Motorola has added its MotoBlur UI on top which merges all your messages from Twitter, Facebook and email into one place on the home screen so you can easily stay in touch with friends.

The Milestone 2 on O2 is available from £20 a month and the device is free on £30 a month contracts. In the UK, this Motorola is also offered on Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile so you can compare mobile phone offers and find the right one for you.

Are you tempted by this Android smartphone? Other recently launched Motorola Android phones include the Backflip and Flipout models, and the rugged Android Motorola Defy.
