Palm Pre 2 Deals Landing in the UK on 12 November

November 10th, 2010 by Caroline

We’d previously revealed that the quicker, slicker Palm Pre successor was heading to the UK soon – and now we can confirm just how soon.

You’ll be able to get your hands on Palm Pre 2 deals this coming Friday, 12 November. The phone is set to be released on a SIM-free basis so you’ll have your choice of network provider for the device too.

Although this HP device launched in France a fortnight ago, it’s great news it’s heading our way in time for Christmas. Despite the Facebook message earlier this month about pre-order deals for the Pre 2 being available in the US on 11 November, there is still no official confirmation for the US release – however HP has confirmed to Pocket-lint about the UK launch date.

Are you excited about the new Palm Pre 2?

The Pre 2 debuts the webOS 2.0 which brings with it a range of enhanced features. These include True Multitasking for pausing any activity to check your email or calendar, for example, before continuing where you left off; JustType which lets you begin tapping your message without the need to open an app; and Flash 10.1 support. There are also ample features for social networking including Facebook 2.0 and Skype, as well as a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

If you’re a fan of the original Palm Pre and Pre Plus phones, you’ll like the familiar shape and design of this model. There is a touchscreen-keyboard slider combination together with a glass screen and rounded shape.

Pricing for the Palm Pre 2 has not been confirmed yet and as soon as we hear more, we’ll pass the details onto you. In the meantime, you can read more about this phone over in our Pre 2 reviews section – and share your thoughts on this webOS 2.0 smartphone too.
