Vodafone UK has just launched several BlackBerry smartphones on a Pay As You Go basis.
Previously advertised on the network provider’s Coming Soon page, and covered in a Best Mobile Contracts blog on phone deals for November, three PAYG BlackBerry devices on Vodafone are now available to buy.
The network stated: “Vodafone UK’s Pay as you go customers can now take advantage of a range of BlackBerry smartphones, including models in violet, ruby red and pink on the UK’s best network. Customers buying a BlackBerry on Pay as you go will get the BlackBerry Internet service, giving them access to email, apps and messenger for free until June 2011.”
These BlackBerry phones are being sold from £160 and come with access to a “choice of Vodafone Freebees” such as “TopUp and Get Text and Web gives customers 500MB of data and 300 texts for free.”
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 on Vodafone costs £160 and comes in a choice of black and violet. This traditional RIM device features a full QWERTY keyboard and a touch-sensitive trackpad for enhanced navigation. You can download apps onto the Curve 8520 including for Facebook and Twitter, and the phone comes with an inbuilt 2-megapixel snapper.
Both the BlackBerry Curve 9300 and Pearl 3G on Vodafone are available for £230, with the 9300 offered in black and red and the 3G handset in black and pink. The Curve 9300 and Pearl 3G come with support for 3G connectivity and inbuilt GPS navigation. However, the Pearl 3G differs from the standard BlackBerry design and sports just 14 keys, making it the smallest and slimmest BlackBerry to-date.
The pink Pearl 3G is exclusive to Vodafone, as is the red Curve 9300 for a limited time. But the network isn’t the only one to offer BlackBerry on PAYG, as last month saw Three introduce a similar offering.
So are you tempted by any of these BlackBerry phones on PAYG?
