It has been quite an exciting week for Android fans as Samsung and Google skirt around the little topic known to most of us as the Google Nexus S. The rumored Android smart phone is the latest Google branded handset and this time, instead of Taiwanese phone maker HTC making the handset, the manufacturing duties has been delegated to Korea based Samsung.
So far, full details on the device are still sketchy at this point, but it is also hard to deny that the handset exists. Various images are already available at this point and right now, it is all a matter of finding a great close up to see how the whole thing really looks. We have already seen that it takes a few liberties with the Galaxy S layout, and as different as the HTC Desire from the Nexus One was, we can expect to see similar changes for this new Nexus Phone.
Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Ericsson are getting together to work on the Sony Playstation Phone. There have been plenty of rumors about this device but among that, the most prominent bits of news include the device having a touch screen display and the Google Android OS running the device.
Oddly enough, the device is getting mixed thoughts from the gaming industry and the smart phone community. While smart phone reviewers are hoping for more casual app-like games such as Angry Birds or Plants VS Zombies, those in the gaming industry expect Sony to deliver higher quality games such as new entries to the God of War or Gran Turismo series.
Overall, it all boils down to what the buyers really want –though this will be primarily a gaming device as opposed to a phone with games, so hopefully, Sony will prioritize having better games for this handheld.
