The newest, littlest and cheapest Symbian handset has officially launched and is heading your way right now.
The Nokia C6-01 started shipping today so you’ll be able to buy this mobile phone from various retailers and operators soon.
The C6-01 is packed full of high-end features including an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and HD video recorder. The internal memory can be boosted to up to 32GB using a microSD card and there is support for both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Design wise, the Nokia C6-01 is one of the greenest Nokia phones to-date as it is made from bioplastics and recycled metals. The AMOLED capacitive screen measures 3.2 inches and uses the new ClearBlack technology. The size and clarity enables you to browse comfortably online, watch your own or streamed videos and images, and engage in social networking on sites like Facebook. It is also good for navigation purposes, giving you clear directions when you launch the included Ovi Maps.
Jo Harlow, head of smartphones said: “The Nokia C6-01 is designed for the consumer who wants to stay on top of their social life while on the go. The new Symbian platform makes social networking fast and easy, while from the design point of view the Nokia C6-01 fits perfectly in your palm. Even the smallest of hands can reach every corner of the screen!”
The phone measures a modest 103.8 x 52.5 x 13.9mm and weighs 131g. Are you tempted by this compact device? We’ll keep you posted on the UK launch date for Nokia C6-01 offers and confirm which network providers will be offering this Symbian smartphone.
