The Successor to Dell Streak Offers Anticipated to Land in 2011

November 12th, 2010 by Caroline

Dell is reportedly working on the Dell Streak 2 and expected to launch the new Streak in May next year.

The Streak successor is codenamed Opus One and will likely feature the same 5 inch screen but with a higher resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The device is thought to be powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, which would make it super quick.

The leak links to a private presentation by Dell during which it was suggested the next-generation of Dell Streak offers is underway.

This news is according to the guys over at StreakSmart, who state on their site: According to someone who was at that presentation, Dell has plans to release a second-gen Streak in May 2011. It’s currently being called the Opus One and while it was not specifically referred to as the Streak’s successor, the image shown while the Opus One was being discussed was of the Streak and Streak Froyo.

Are you excited at the prospect of a Dell Streak successor?

Highlights of the original Streak include its large screen with a Gorilla glass display and support for multi-touch; a 5-megapixel camera; Android OS; and social networking integration.

Halfway between a smartphone and a tablet device, the Streak has proven to be popular since its launch in the summer. Size wise, this Dell sits in the middle of the iPhone 4’s 3.5 inch screen and the Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 7 inch screen, combining the best of both a high-end smartphone and a tablet.

We’re hoping this rumour is true, and will bring you confirmation and additional news as soon as possible.
