There has been much publicity surrounding the Windows Phone 7 handsets recently launched by HTC – and three of the five phones are offered exclusively on UK networks.
The HTC HD7 on O2 is available from £30 a month on a 24-month contract with a free handset. There are also various 18-month deals on O2, and the device is offered on a PAYG basis for £380 too. A high-end device built along similar lines to the Desire HD phone with a large 4.3 inch display and HD video support, the HD7 comes with an array of Hubs to keep you in touch and entertained on the move.
These Hubs include the Office Hub for opening, editing and sharing documents on the phone, and the Games Hub for downloading and playing games.
When the smartphone was unveiled, HTC stated in its press release: “HTC HD7 owners can enjoy their favorite videos and movies in cinematic-style thanks to the large 4.3” high-resolution screen, while its kickstand allows them to sit back and enjoy the action handsfree. For those who refuse to compromise on their mobile gaming experience, the HTC HD7 realizes the power of Xbox LIVE, bringing gameplay to life in a way that takes console gaming beyond the home.”
HTC has decided to offer a few UK exclusives for its WP7-based devices. The HTC 7 Mozart is offered exclusively on Orange and the HTC 7 Trophy is with Vodafone. If you like the look of these handsets, you can compare mobile phone offers before you choose as each network has several deals available to suit your minutes/text/data needs.
Dell, LG and Samsung have also launched WP7 devices – and there are rumours that Sony Ericsson may follow suit with the as-yet-unconfirmed Xperia X7 and X7 Mini smartphones.
