Google has proven that the Nexus S has been designed to withstand vacuums. This is the big space age question that was brought up sometime back and according to Google, the new phone is indeed a well-made handset and it will do exactly that.
To prove this, several Nexus S handsets were sent up on balloons to a height of 30,000 feet. The entire experiment was filmed through the devices themselves and proved that the phone’s core functions all worked even under such extreme conditions. While nobody is planning to go deep space anytime soon, it did prove that Google’s folks really knew what they were doing.
In the meanwhile 3 UK has returned the good old unlimited bandwidth offer to their subscribers, with the lowest rate running at 35 GBP per month. The announcement comes as a surprise considering that many are still adjusting to the 500MB offer (though some completely do not mind. But for network operators this is a tough bullet to bite and nobody seems eager to be 3’s rival anytime soon.
Data consumption in the UK is quite strong, with the sheer number of heavy 3G users in the territory. The fact is, every time someone tries to log in, there are plenty of chances to be disconnected or to have the connection timed out due to sheer lag. There is no doubt that 3 UK’s offer is tempting, but many believe that the network will get clogged up pretty soon once more users sign up for the service.
O2 UK is hoping to provide better services and features by investing a solid 7 million Pounds on their industry partners. The partner channel, which allows O2 to work alongside many smaller companies and provide special services to users are going to be expanding the range of O2’s services.
