One online retailer in Sweden seems to be ahead of the game, having already placed the LG Optimus 2X as available to pre-order.
Only announced a few days ago, the Optimus 2X is the world’s first Android smartphone to feature a dual-core internal processor. And LG had previously stated the mobile phone would arrive first in Korea in January before launching in Europe and Asia soon after – hence our surprise to find LG Optimus 2X deals advertised already.
The dual-core smartphone is priced at 4999 Swedish kroner SIM-free, which is about €555 or £465. Bought on a contract basis, the Optimus 2X is shown to be 3099 Swedish kronor, which is about €345 or £290.
This LG will launch with the Android 2.2 platform but will be upgradable to the new Gingerbread OS, which debuts on the Nexus S. In addition to its NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, the Optimus 2X comes with a 4 inch screen, an 8-megapixel snapper with HD video, a front-facing camera, expandable storage up to 32GB and HDMI mirroring which ensures the content displayed on devices like a HD TV is HD quality.
LG said: “The LG Optimus 2X offers 1080p HD video playback and recording with HDMI mirroring that expands content on external displays to full HD quality. The LG Optimus 2X can connect wirelessly to any DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible digital device such as HD TVs for a console-like gaming experience taking full advantage of the phone’s HDMI mirroring, accelerometer and gyro sensor.”
The dual-core processor ensures a smooth user experience, providing support for multitasking and faster browsing and gaming. LG has combined this with an enhanced battery performance so you can really make the most of all this phone’s technology, ability and features.
