Mobile Phone Deals: What The Networks Have in Store For December

December 1st, 2010 by Caroline

December is a busy month when it comes to mobile phone deals, with Christmas and the New Year just around the corner.

If all you want this Christmas is a brand new smartphone, we’ve got a quick overview of new releases for this month. The Walkman phone, Sony Ericsson Yendo, is expected to be available through both O2 and T-Mobile in December – and T-Mobile is also launching the Nokia X3 Touch & Type this month. And the iPad is on the network’s Coming Soon page, so quite possibly this Apple tablet will be offered in the next few weeks.

Orange has a number of handsets coming soon, including the Samsung B2710 which it describes as “one tough cookie”. A bar phone with a 2-megapixel camera, the B2710 is hardy and waterproof, and will be joining the LG Optimus One and San Francisco from Orange shortly.

At the moment, Vodafone UK has no mobiles phones in its Coming Soon section – but it does list a few “Christmas deals”. These include the popular Samsung Wave, HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy S and Google Nexus One.

Network Three lists the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone with a January 2011 release date. The successor to the 9700, the Bold 9780 runs on the BB OS 6 and comes with multiple social networking and media features, a 5-megapixel camera and GPS.

Do any of these phone deals tempt you?

Of course, a number of handsets have recently launched in the UK also. These include the HTC Desire Z, Nokia C7 and Samsung Wave 723. And if it’s a tablet device you’re after, the iPad 2 and BlackBerry PlayBook are due in Q2 2011.
