News Bits: a Quick Bite of Today’s Mobile Updates

December 17th, 2010 by Best Mobile Contracts

Google’s Nexus S Android smart phone is finally coming out we have managed to snag a quick preview of the handset. Right off the bat, the slightly curved face will provide users with a unique looking handset while the rest of the casing gives users that familiar grip of the original Galaxy S. Of course, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running in all its glory and considering the hardware on the handset, it is running as smoothly as it can be. The 4 inch super AMOLED touch screen display provides users with visual quality that rivals the Apple retina display.

Dell’s Thunder smart phone is coming to Korea. The device is packing a 4 inch AMOLED touch screen, an 8 mega pixel camera and the 2.2 Froyo Android OS. So far, it is hard to tell how the device will fare in the Samsung and LG dominated territory.

Nokia is losing its position on top of the hill, and fast. Both Apple and Google are both on a race to see who can topple Nokia from the top perch as the two companies battle it out. While it seems off that Nokia is not doing a thing, the fact is that the MeeGo development seems to have faced some unforeseen delays. In the meanwhile, the Symbian OS is taking a slow exit from the picture as the EC has set the Foundation as a leader in an upcoming project.

Sony Ericsson has not only managed to climb up from the red last year, but they are now turning a pretty serious profit. Given that the XPERIA X10 and the Vivaz handsets did not fare so well, the XPERIA X10 Mini and XPERIA X10 Mini Pro smart phones are making plenty of sales thanks to the great balance of hardware and price (despite the fact that they have lower specs than the original X10).
