Samsung Launches Luxury Edition Galaxy Tab Deals

December 14th, 2010 by Caroline

With Christmas just around the corner, why not treat a loved one to an exclusive Android tablet this year?

Yes, Samsung has just unveiled its “limited Luxury edition” of the Samsung Galaxy Tab at the Millionaire Fair in Amsterdam. This European exhibition is where top-of-the-range gadgets are unleashed to wealthy spectators – so what exactly makes this edition Luxury?

This Tab comes with a luxurious leather case and Bluetooth headset, but the tablet itself is the standard model. Despite the partial differences between chic and normal, luxury edition Galaxy Tab deals cost €749, which is about £625.

If you are impressed by this edition of the tablet, Samsung is offering this device from tomorrow 15 December until 31 January 2011.

To date, over a million Galaxy Tabs have been sold and Samsung is hoping to reach the 1.5 million mark by the end of the year. Its biggest rival is the Apple iPad which reached the 2 million mark in the same amount of time (two months) that it’s taken the Tab to reach 1 million, and Samsung will be hoping for strong sales this Christmas. Although Apple achieved twice the number of sales in the initial months since the launch of its tablet, the tablet market is much more competitive now – and next year sees the launch of more tablets including the BlackBerry PlayBook.

In case you’re unfamiliar with this Android tablet, you can take a quick look at our Samsung Galaxy Tab reviews area – and share your own views on this device too. Among the features are a 1GHz processor, HD video playback ability, Adobe Flash 10.1 support and different Hubs for eBooks, media and music. Compared to the iPad, the Galaxy Tab has a smaller 7 inch display, two cameras and the option to make calls.

The Galaxy Tab is available on a number of UK network providers including O2 and T-Mobile. Is this tablet – the standard or luxury edition – on your wish list?
