There is no doubt that Apple is set to announce the sequel to its hugely successful iPad (the iPad 2 ?), a device that caused such a stir in the industry that it singlehandedly was responsible for the huge tablet push at CES 2011 this year.
According to images from iOS 4.3 Beta 2, the thumbnail shows February 9th on the calendar’s icon. This might seem insignificant, but if you remember, last year the previous graphic showed January 27th, the day that Apple fessed up to the iPad.
What is more striking about this is that February 9th is the same day that HP will be announcing their forthcoming tablet, one that has stemmed from their acquisition of Palm and their webOS platform. No doubt, if this is such a case that would mean that HP’s event could be overshadowed quite a bit.
Other speculations claim that the iPad will be receiving rear and front facing cameras not to mention outrageous speculations that an SD card could be coming to the device, something that has not appeared in an Apple mobile device in forever.
As these are all speculations, we would not take them with much weight except for the camera speculation which makes sense seeing Skype has finally come to the iPhone and no doubt the iPad would be next, not to mention the fact that Apple is looking to boost its FaceTime app usage and what better way to do that than to produce a camera on the forth coming iPad. We will keep you updated with news as we get it.
