Dell’s WP7-based smartphone is finally coming to the UK – and you can get hold of the device from 1 March onwards.
The first deliveries are due in 10 days, with orders being taken directly from Dell in the UK from tomorrow. SIM-free Dell Venue Pro deals will set you back a cool £459.
This will certainly be welcome news for those of you clambering to get hold of the Venue Pro, as its UK release was recently delayed.
The slider handset is designed with “the mobile professional in mind”, offering ample features and support for business and entertainment alike. The 4.1 inch AMOLED touch-sensitive display is protected by Gorilla Glass and complemented by a slide-down vertical QWERTY keypad. In fact, Dell asked its staff to swap their BlackBerry smartphones for Venue Pro phones last year – a sure sign the company views the new WP7 handset as a contender to RIM’s devices.
With Microsoft Office Hub integration, the Venue Pro lets you read and edit Office documents while on the move, and the Windows Phone 7 Live Tiles make accessing the apps that really matter to you easy.
Aongus Hegarty, Dell vice president for Consumer, Small and Medium Business in EMEA said in the company’s press release: “No matter your requirements, the Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7 brings a fresh approach of doing more with less. We’re committed to creating smart, innovative mobile experiences to help people discover new ways to work, enjoy the web, connect with friends, and navigate their lives. The Venue Pro truly mixes business with pleasure and is the perfect phone for those who appreciate the work/life balance.”
The Venue Pro also comes with social networking integration, a 5-megapixel camera with flash, Xbox Live gaming, and cloud-based services. Are you tempted by this WP7 slider smartphone?
