With all the talk of Windows Phone 7 and the Microsoft partnership many people believed Nokia had completely forgotten about MeeGo, the open-source OS resultant from their team up with Intel. Apparently Nokia haven’t forgotten, though, and they’ve confirmed through a talk from CTO Rich Green that the first MeeGo device will be released this year. That device will be the Nokia N950. At the moment, we have very few details on the handset, not even a picture, but we do know that it’s on its way and will reach us this year. The bad news is that this probably serves as final confirmation that the Nokia N9, which was intended to be the first MeeGo device, has been cancelled after all.
