Best 8 iPhone Apps for Moving into Spring

March 26th, 2011 by Richard

iPhone spring apps

The warm weather and the longer days which come with spring give us an ideal opportunity to make use of some of the great iPhone apps which are around these days. Let’s have a look at a few of them. We have apps to get you fit/keep in shape, ones that will get you out and about,  help you clean your house and even ones that will help you get used to the clocks going forward.

Clean Freak

You want to clean out your house but don’t know where to start or where to find the time? You could either hire a cleaning lady to do it for you or download the great Clean Freak app. The app might not share a cup of tea with you but it costs under a pound and won’t tell you all about its son’s problems at school. If you like to plan ahead and keep everything noted down then this is the best way to give your home a regular spruce up.

Get Fit with Mel B

Who better to get you in shape for the moment when you finally shed those extra layers of clothes? This app is based on the hugely successful version which has been a hit on the Wii, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. You can keep track of your fitness plan and even tap into the list of recipes stored on the app. It costs a couple of pounds but could be just what is needed to help you lost that excess weight after a cold, hunger inducing winter.

Motion X

This is a great time of year for dusting down the bike and hitting those country roads. There are actually a lot of apps around for cyclists on both the iPhone and Android devices. Motion X costs just 59p for the Apple platform and uses GPS to track wherever you are and you can also keep all the records of your sessions which you could possibly want. You can use it for all sorts of outdoor sports and the interface is nice and simple to use.

Day N Night

If you have friends or work contacts that live in another part of the world then the clocks going forward can cause a bit of confusion about when you can contact them without making them jump of their bed with a start. If you want a visually pleasing way of remembering then this is a great choice. You basically get a map of the world with a shadow covering the part where most of the people are currently snoring. It costs £1.19 and is somehow deeply soothing to look at as well as being practical.

Good Food Healthy Recipes

As the temperature starts to rise it is a good time to hide away the cakes and lard and aim to eat healthier, lighter meals. This app has over 120 healthy recipes and comes with the BBC name on it. It costs £1.79 for the iPhone and there are videos to help you out as well as conventional recipes.

Pub Explorer

With all of this exercising and healthy eating we can be forgiven for sneaking out to the pub every now and then. There are few things better on a bright spring morning than heading out in the car or on the bike and exploring some of the local countryside. However, when a thirst starts to build up you will be glad that you spent £1.79 on this app. Use the GPS facility to find your nearest watering hole and get there safely before downing a nice non alcoholic drink and heading home again.

Things To Do: London

If you are going to take advantage of the Bank Holidays to make a trip to the big city then this free app will help you make the most of your time there. You can use geo-location to see what is happening near you and then choose what to do.

Gravity Clock

Once the clocks go forward you might find yourself looking at the time more often until you get your bearings. What better way to do it then by using the fun Gravity Clock app. It costs £0.59 and you simply get a hypnotic clock face from which the numbers constantly fall and get put back on again in what might very well be a poignant symbol of man’s never ending quest to conquer time.
