An intriguing image has made its way online, leading to rumours of an array of new Nokia handsets in the making.

The guys over at My Nokia Blog have been sent a screenshot from Janimatik – sadly because it’s an image, it’s hard to translate. But a few things stand out nonetheless.

A few phones are listed under each resolution category. In the 360×640 category is a mysterious item called Nokia Oro, the yet-to-be-confirmed Nokia T7-00 and Nokia X7-00, and an unknown Nokia 601T/602T.

Under VGA resolution sits the unannounced Nokia E6 and the Nokia 702T.

And then there is a new resolution category – 960×540. As My Nokia Blog states: “That’s 1.5x the pixel width and height of the previous nHD displays, 518,400 pixels. nHD has 230,400 pixels, so 288,000 extra pixels. More than double, or 125% increase. Pretty much iPhone 4 territory (960×640) but due to screen ratio cuts off 100 pixels. The jump from nHD to qHD isn’t as big as iPhone 3G only had 320×480. Then there’s screen size to consider. Will we have 3.5? still or make the move to 4-4.3??”

Could the successor to the Nokia N8 be on its way? Features are unknown for the Nokia N8-01 – as is whether this screenshot is genuine – but it’s rumoured to run on Symbian^3 OS and be powered by a 1GHz processor.

We know that at least the Nokia T7-00, E6 and X7-00 devices are likely to materialise in the near future. The T7-00 was spotted online today in new, clearer images – although whether the name “T7-00” is a codename and the device will actually launch as part of the N-Series remains to be the seen. Images of the E6 were recently leaked too; and the X7-00 has been spotted in the wild several times now.

We’ll keep you posted and let you know if and when these Nokias are made official.
