Apple iPhone 5 on Pre-Order – Or Maybe Not

May 4th, 2011 by Best Mobile Contracts

Though there’s been no official confirmation on the launch date, specifications, price, or even name of Apple’s next generation of iPhones, one UK based site is already taking pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 5. GreenTrust UK, whose worryingly sparse website also lists low cost life insurance and personal pensions plans, are offering customers willing to hand over £195 (excluding VAT) the opportunity to get their hands on one of the very first batch of iPhone 5s to hit the UK.

Though they don’t know when they’ll be shipping out these iPhones or how much you’ll ultimately have to pay to get one, to set your mind at rest they are promising to send out a “certificate of confirmation” to confirm that you have “secured the right to purchase from the first batch”. Call us cynical, but we can’t help but think we’d want a little more than a piece of paper for our two hundred quid… Our advice? We’d wait for some official words from Apple, a major network or an established retailer before we paid any up-front cash for the new iPhone. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
