New Report Indicates Apple iPhone is Still the Most Desirable Smartphone

June 24th, 2011 by Best Mobile Contracts

Yankee Group, a US I.T. marketing research company, have been compiling a report on European mobile users and though the full report won’t be released until next month, some preliminary findings have been released with some very interesting statistics.

According to the research Yankee Group have conducted, 40% of buyers in Europe intend to buy an iPhone as their next smartphone – which is more than twice as many as are planning to buy an Android (19%). Just 17% of the surveyed people reported that their next smartphone would be a BlackBerry and Nokia fared worse still at 15%.

The research seems to confirm that Apple’s iPhone brand is still very much king of the hill in the smartphone world and will come as fairly bleak news to Nokia, who still seem to be floundering in their efforts to cut out a share of the smartphone market. Then again, what people intend to buy doesn’t always necessarily translate into what they do buy, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

What do you all think? Will your next smartphone be an iPhone? Let us know in the comments below!
