Three Mobile in Sweden has announced that they have a new Samsung handset that they plan to release in the coming months. The Galaxy Z is a bit of a cross between the Galaxy SII and the Galaxy SL. You are probably all aware of the Galaxy SII, being one of the most popular phones at the moment, but if you are not familiar with the Galaxy SL it is a bit of a watered down version of the original Galaxy S.

In the same way the Galaxy Z is a slightly watered down version of the Galaxy S2. Some noticeable changes – the Galaxy Z comes with a Super LCD screen in place of the Super AMOLED Plus of the S2, and with a slightly slower 1GHz dual core Tegra 2 processor. The Galaxy Z is still WVGA, although the camera has been bumped down to a 5 megapixel with 720p. Internal storage has been halved to 8GB, although a microSD slot is still present so that you can top up.

The Galaxy S2 is a great phone although all of the top end features on board make it a little pricey. This slightly modified version gives you all of the S2 greatness at a better price, while still being comfortably competitive against some of the best phones on offer. It also looks almost identical to the S2.
