The upcoming slimmest-BlackBerry-smartphone-yet Bold 9900 is now available to pre-order through Phones 4u – and the range of tariffs listed hints at a Vodafone exclusive launch in the UK.
The mobile retailer states the BlackBerry Bold 9900 phone can be pre-ordered today and you’ll “receive the handset on 15/08”.

So, brace yourself for an August launch of the Bold 9900 device – which ties in nicely with our price and release date update from the end of last month. The Phones 4u pre-order details for this BlackBerry confirms what we previously thought might be the case with regard to a Vodafone exclusivity.
When we chatted to the major UK network providers at the end of June, only Vodafone seemed to be confident of an earlier release date while the likes of Orange explained the BlackBerry Bold 9900 release date had been delayed and the smartphone was likely to make an appearance in September.
Has Vodafone successfully secured an early release for the Bold 9900, like it did for the HTC Sensation?
It’s certainly looking that way, with Phones 4u listing the Bold 9900 on pre-order on a range of Vodafone plans starting from £26 a month with an upfront charge of £159 for the phone or from £36 a month with a free phone.
The BlackBerry Bold 9000 successor has been at the heart of numerous rumours recently, with much excitement building about this high-end RIM device. The Bold 9900 boasts a svelte 10.5mm-deep frame and weighs a mere 130g, yet is packed with the latest technology.
The Bold 9900 has a 2.8 inch Liquid Graphics display, is run on the BB OS 7, is powered by a 1.2GHz processor, and has onboard features that include a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and HD video, and NFC support.
