Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Mini Pro on Pre-Order

July 18th, 2011 by Caroline

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone isn’t the only device to land on pre-order with an August release date, as we’ve had word both the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Mini Pro handsets are now on pre-order and due out next month.

A BuyMobilePhones.net representative told Best Mobile Contracts that the Xperia Mini and Mini Pro are “due first week in August”.

Are you excited about these Sony Ericsson smartphones’ imminent launch?

Described as “powerful, versatile and compact” by the company when launched back in May, both the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro pack quite a punch.

With a 3 inch scratch-resistant display boosted by Mobile BRAVIA Engine screen technology for sharp and vibrant imagery, these new additions to the Xperia range of phones from Sony Ericsson are portable and user friendly.

The UI has been enhanced so there’s space for up to 16 apps on the home screen, and there is also the Facebook Inside Xperia function for instant access to the social networking site from the most used features of the phone, such as the camera.

The phones run on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and are powered by 1GHz processors.

As the world’s smallest Android HD smartphones, both the Mini and the Mini Pro have an inbuilt 5-megapixel camera with support for 720p video recording and LED flash.

The Mini Pro, which is very similar to the Mini in terms of specs with the major difference being the addition of a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, also comes with a front-facing camera. The Mini Pro has been designed with the professional user in mind, and features excellent messaging support with functions such as Smart Keyboard and Type & Send, as well as Office Suite software.

If you’re tempted by either Xperia mobiles, you haven’t long to wait before both are released in the UK. To compare pre-order Xperia Mini deals, click here, and here for Xperia Mini Pro pre-order offers.
