The tough yet smooth smartphone from Motorola has been given a September release date in the UK.
So if you’re a fan of the original Motorola Defy, you haven’t long to wait to upgrade to the Defy+ model – which the company promises to be “faster, smarter, richer” than its predecessor.
And this is no mean feat when you consider the modern design, capable features and toughness of the original Defy.
With a 1GHz processor powering the Defy+, the handset is 25% quicker and thanks to running on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform delivers a host of new features including improved battery, more intuitive UI and the option to personalise the Apps tray.

Victoria McManus, UK marketing director, Motorola Mobility said: “Motorola DEFY+, our latest life proof smartphone, delivers the endurance and design strength to keep up with even the most demanding lifestyles, along with the social and entertainment capabilities that put friends and fun in easy reach. We designed Motorola DEFY+ with all the smartphone features you need for a demanding lifestyle.”
As the Motorola Defy+ is water resistant, dust proof, and its Corning Gorilla Glass display scratch resistant, you can take the phone with you anywhere, without worrying overly about it coming to any harm. Take it to the beach, with you on a showery dog walk or to a club, and this “life proof device” can handle it.
Other features of the Defy+ include a 5-megapixel camera with zoom and auto focus, Adobe Flash 10 support, and pre-installed apps for entertainment. For example, there is the CardioTrainer app which tracks your workout progress, and the Zinio e-magazine service for accessing publications on the move.
With September only a day away, you can expect to be able to get hold of the Motorola Defy+ imminently. We’ll keep you posted on pricing and launch date details, and in the meantime, why not take a look at the phone in action?
