Great 12 Month Smartphone Contracts

September 19th, 2011 by Caroline

If you love the flexibility that 12-month smartphone contracts provide, we have a selection of some of the best deals currently on offer for you.

Since June, when Ofcom delivered the good news that 36-month contracts are now banned and providers must offer 12-month deals alongside 24-month contracts, you’ve been able to choose from a wide range of yearly offers.

And if you’re yet to discover the joy of 12-month deals, maybe the plethora of new and upcoming smartphones will tempt you!

Yes, with 12-month deals, you can make the most of new smartphones with less time to hang around while your contract runs its course.

The best 12-month deals are currently offered on Talk Mobile (which runs on the O2 network) and Vodafone, and we’ve highlighted a couple of the best deals for high-end smartphones and two of the finest offers for mid-range handsets for you.

High-end smartphone deals

Samsung Galaxy S II 12-month deals

The popular Galaxy S II is available on yearly offers on Talk Mobile, Vodafone and T-Mobile but out of all the deals available, the £30 monthly deal on Talk Mobile is definitely worth a look.

There is an upfront fee of £99.99 for the S II but each month you’ll receive 400 minutes, 1000 texts and 1GB of data for your money.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 12-month deals

There are a number of different offers that will appeal, depending on how many minutes, text and data allowance you’re after.

The best Bold 9900 deal on a 12-month contract is on Vodafone for £36 per month. There is an upfront phone charge of £119.99 but this deal comes with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data per month.

Mid-range smartphone deals

Samsung Galaxy Ace 12-month deals

The best deal for the Galaxy Ace is on Talk Mobile. The deal includes a refurbished* Ace and comes with 300 minutes, 1000 texts and 1GB of data. The standard £25 a month line rental has been dramatically cut thanks to the 9 months free line rental offer, which effectively means line rental works out at just £6.25 each month.

*Refurbished phones are handsets that have been previously owned but returned as no longer wanted. They are not faulty devices and come with the same working status as a brand new handset but with a smaller price. In fact, we think refurbished phones provide a great option, and recently partnered with I Need a Mobile, a big provider of SIM-free refurbished phones in the UK.

HTC Wildfire S 12-month deals

Vodafone is currently offering the Wildfire S for effectively £18 a month with a free phone. As a result of giving 6 months free line rental, you can enjoy this smartphone for half the monthly amount and still benefit from the 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data included each month.

Do any of these 12-month smartphone deals take your fancy?
