We’ve just had word that the Samsung Galaxy Y launched 2 weeks ago will be making its way to UK shores, courtesy of Vodafone. The Galaxy Y has been added to Vodafone’s official site and is listed as “coming soon”.
As you may remember, the ‘Y’ in ‘Samsung Galaxy Y’ stands for ‘Young-Minded’, and places the phone in the budget/entry range according to Samsung’s new naming scheme. Both 3 and O2 have confirmed that they’ll be stocking the Galaxy W (for ‘Wonder’, of course) that was launched alongside the Galaxy Y, but so far only Vodafone have claimed the Galaxy Y. This has led to some speculation that this handset may be a Vodafone exclusive. We contacted Vodafone to confirm this and ask when we might expect to see the Galaxy Y released, but we could only persuade their representative to comment that they expected the phone to be “ extremely popular”. We’ll keep you posted if we manage to draw any more from them!
