Exclusive Photos of SE Xperia Arc HD Leaked

December 13th, 2011 by Caroline

The upcoming flagship phone from Sony Ericsson has been snapped and shown to the online world.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD smartphone looks impressive – and thanks to the specs list leaking alongside the images, we know it’s pretty striking on the inside too.

Thanks to the guys over at GSM Arena, you can take a look at the Arc HD, codenamed Nozomi. The device has been captured on camera before, back in November, but not in such clear up-close shots.

Specs are expected to include a 4.3-inch high-resolution (720 x 1280 pixels) display, which will match the Galaxy Nexus on the screen resolution front. The screen is a little bigger than the Arc S’s 4.2-inches, and we’re pretty confident the phone will sport the same super-slim design too.

The Xperia Arc HD will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and features 1GB of RAM, which should make it impressively nippy. The handset will be offered in two different versions, 16GB and 32GB, with no option to expand the memory via a microSD card.

Like the original Arc and the recently-released Arc S, the Arc HD comes with a high-end camera onboard. With 12-megapixels and 1080p video capture capabilities, you’ll be able to take quality photos and shoot footage which you can then share with friends on the bigger screen via the HDMI port also.

What is a little surprising is that the upcoming Xperia flagship phone isn’t packing Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS but Gingerbread instead. The new ICS version of Android made its debut on the Galaxy Nexus, and delivers a number of extras compared to earlier flavours – including the ability to unlock the phone with your smile. Sure, an update will likely happen fairly swiftly, but it’s still disappointing not to have ICS onboard from the launch.

And speaking of launch, look out for the Sony Ericsson Arc HD next month as it’s anticipated to make an appearance at CES in January.
