Three UK has today launched the HTC Sensation XE smartphone on its network, on both contract and PAYG options.
The trendier, music-infused version of the original HTC Sensation handset, the XE model boasts Beats by Dr Dre technology as well as a better battery and faster processor.
Inside the cooler looking Sensation XE (jazzy with red details and the Beats Audio logo on the back) is a 1.5GHz chip, 1730mAh battery, 8-megapixel camera, 4GB of internal storage, and Android Gingerbread OS.
The Sensation XE features the Beats Audio profile which lets you listen to tunes in the way the artist intended – and comes with a pair of UrBeats headphones.
You can buy the HTC Sensation XE on Three on monthly plans from £30 per month or for £37 month on The One Plan which includes all-you-can-eat data, 2000 minutes and 5000 texts.
On PAYG, the XE phone costs £399.99 with the option to buy 30-days access for £15 with 300 minutes, 3000 texts and all-you-can-eat data or £25 with 500 minutes, 3000 texts and all-you-can-eat data.
The phone landed in the UK in October, so how do the Three Sensation XE deals compare to other networks?
Well, you can get the smartphone on T-Mobile for free on a £25.54 monthly offer with 600 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of data – and with 5 months half-price by redemption, the monthly amount is effectively £22.88.
On O2, the XE is free on £26 per month with 300 minutes and unlimited texts. Plus, this offer comes with £65 cashback at the moment, effectively reducing your monthly outgoings to £23.29.
Orange and Vodafone are a little more expensive with a free handset. For £41 per month, the XE comes with 900 minutes and unlimited texts – and the current offer of £135 cashback effectively reduces the monthly cost to £33.50. And on Vodafone, the HTC phone is free for £46 per month with 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data – but this is effectively decreased to £33.54 a month thanks to the 13 months half-price by redemption offer.
If it’s PAYG you want, Three is the cheapest by some way – O2 charges £429, and the other three networks £499.
