There is going to be no shortage of Ice Cream Sandwich-loaded smartphones in Barcelona next week, when Mobile World Congress 2012 gets underway – and Acer has just added a new member to its ICS line up.
The Acer Liquid Glow is a neat handset that boasts the latest version of Android’s operating system to deliver a “handful of friendship and fun”. Targeted at “today’s fun-seeking, social-networking youth”, the Liquid Glow phone looks set to combine affordability with the latest technology.
In addition to all the delights that come hand-in-hand with Ice Cream Sandwich software, the Acer Liquid Glow has a 3.7-inch display, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, and a contemporary design. Available in colourful choices of Sakura Pink, Alpine White, and Cat’s Eye Black, this handset offers a design twist by matching the onscreen display to the external colour.
You’ll be able to take a closer look at this new Acer phone at MWC next week, and Acer has said it will be released in the UK in early summer. There’s no word on pricing yet, but we suspect this will be reasonable to reflect the youthful audience.
This latest Liquid model will be on display alongside the top-spec Acer CloudMobile which was introduced a couple of weeks ago. As well as running on Ice Cream Sandwich OS, this Acer sports a 4.3-inch HD display and a design that has won it the iF design award 2012. Premium technology is also onboard this handset, including Dolby Sound and AcerCloud software.
These two upcoming Acer devices will join the gaggle of exciting phones destined for this year’s MWC event. Manufacturers who have loaded their new gadgets with ICS goodness from the off include HTC, LG, ZTE and Motorola.
Not long now until MWC 2012 commences! Which phones are you most excited about?
