Two weeks before the start of Mobile World Congress French phone maker Alcatel has already released some information about one of the devices it plans to exhibit. The OT-915 is a budget Android handset that includes a QWERTY keypad much like the Palm Pixi and the majority of BlackBerry phones.
While similar Android phones have been released by HTC, Samsung and Motorola they have so far not managed to eat away at BlackBerry’s diehard consumer base. The OT-915 includes a 2.8 inch touchscreen above its keypad, WiFi, a 5 megapixel camera and an FM radio. Release date and price have not yet been confirmed but it is expected to make an appearance in March and cost a little more than £100 SIM-free.
