Oh yes, the Galaxy S3 quad-core smartphone is expected to land ‘by June’!
Word from Samsung leads us to suspect the eagerly-anticipated upcoming Galaxy S device will be released around June time.
So that’s the good news for fans of the current Galaxy S device – the bad news is Samsung will not showcase the new Galaxy gadget at MWC 2012.

Speaking to the guys over at TechRadar, Samsung confirmed its upcoming new flagship Android will not be wowing the crowds in Barcelona next month. Despite all the previous rumours which strongly suggested the S3 model would become official during MWC, Samsung has advised it will be holding a separate event for the launch of the Galaxy S III.
“The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.”
“Samsung stays committed to providing the best possible mobile experiences for customers around the world.”
The fact Samsung says the event will be in “the first half of the year” and that this is “closer to commercial availability”, means a June launch for the Galaxy S3 is more than possible.
Nevertheless, some of you may be disappointed, especially after the most recent rumour by Russian technology blogger Eldar Murtazin implied we’d see the S3 next month – and Samsung would release it in April.
Whether this latest news is because of a production delay or more of a strategic move by Samsung, lining up its S II successor so it goes head-to-head with the iPhone 5, remains unclear.
The next-generation iPhone is expected to launch this summer, so a June release date for the Samsung Galaxy S3 does make sense.
When do you think Samsung will launch its newest Galaxy S handset?
As always, we’ll keep you posted on further S3-related developments. In the meantime, don’t forget you can cheer yourself up – or a loved one – with a pink Galaxy II which is expected to be released in time for Valentine’s Day.
