White Nokia Lumia 800 Coming Soon

February 6th, 2012 by Caroline

A cool white edition of the Nokia Lumia 800 is now official and heading to the UK, marked with an early March release date.

So if you want to get your mitts on this “beautiful, dazzling, glossy, snow-white” Lumia 800 handset, Phones 4u have an exclusive. The white Nokia 800 will go on sale in early March, offered for free on contracts from £20.50 a month – just like the black, cyan and black versions of this Windows Phone device.

The pale polycarbonate unibody features the “same shiny white” design as the Nokia N9, and its premium finish is the result of being white all the way through. And Nokia says it’s taken two years to get just right.

Tiina Aarras, colour and material designer at Nokia Design, said: “The story of the Nokia Lumia is one of reduction and purity. White is the ultimate colour of reduction. It’s also perfect for emphasising the black polished screen. If you stand a white Lumia 800 on a table the body almost disappears, and the black screen seems to lift up and float.”

Inside this glamorous exterior are the same specs of the current Lumia 800. The white Nokia 800 still boasts a 3.7-inch WVGA display with ClearBlack technology, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango software, 1.4GHz chip, 16GB of inbuilt storage, and 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens.

The good thing about the white version is it’s easy to keep clean, and any marks can simply be wiped off.

Of course, this white version isn’t quite as exciting as the Batman limited edition phone, but at least you do have a chance of actually owning this handset!

We have to admit, though, this Nokia Windows Phone device does look smart in white – are you tempted by this new colour option for the Lumia 800?
