After months of speculation Samsung has finally announced that the long-awaited Galaxy S3 will be launched on May 3rd at an event held in London. Samsung has sent an invite to various members of the press to “come and meet the next Galaxy”. Although it does not specifically mention the S3 by name, this event fits in perfectly with launch dates previously speculated for the next flagship phone.
Little information regarding the phone has yet been made public, with only a few badly photoshopped images to go by. The phone is expected to retain its central home button, despite this being unnecessary for Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and although no pricing has yet been confirmed Samsung Galaxy S3 contracts are expected to be similarly priced to those of its predecessor when it was launched last year – starting at around £20 per month.
Samsung will stream the launch event live via its official Facebook page from 7pm on May 3rd.
