A day after posting what may be the first images of the next generation of BlackBerry 10 phones, fansite N4BB.com has got its hands on the first images of what could be the next BlackBerry Messenger.
The new BBM appears to allow a lot of customisation of its themes and layouts, allowing users to change colour schemes and text bubbles. The decision to allow this customisation has apparently been taken to allow the use of darker colours to improve battery life.
As many of the new BlackBerry 10 devices will be touchscreen only, and feature high powered OLED displays, battery life is to become more of an issue for RIM than it has been on its older handsets. It will be interesting to note if BBM remains as popular on the new generation of touchscreen handsets as it has been on the traditional QWERTY phones which most people associate with the brand.
