After a few weeks of speculation, Samsung boss JK Shin has confirmed that his company will be launching the Galaxy S3 Mini tomorrow in Germany. The S3 Mini will apparently have a lot in common with this year’s leading Android handset, but with a more reasonably sized 4 inch screen.
While it is possible that some of the hardware will see a slight downgrade (the camera is thought to have dropped from 8 megapixels to 5 megapixels, for example), JK Shin has stated that the phone will be “full form factor”. The S3 Mini is being released due to an increased demand for high-end devices in the 4 inch size category in Europe, with many consumers being put off leading Android handsets such as the Galaxy S3 due to their excessive size.
Using a 4 inch screen will make the Galaxy S3 Mini roughly the same size as the original Galaxy S released in 2010.
