For starters, you get no 3G. This is just a 2G phone on a tri band GSM radio with class 10 GPRS and no EDGE. But you still get up to 48 Kbps data connectivity for some occasional online fling if you happen to have some data plan on 2G. There’s also no WiFi but you still get local high speed data transfer functionality with Bluetooth 2.1 when going wireless and miniUSB 2.0 with EDR for wired data syncing.

Housed in a conventional candybar form measuring 106 x 48 x 13.8 mm and weighing a light 85g, the GS200 sports a 2-inch TFT LCD display with QCIF resolution (176 x 220) and 256k colors. You get a QCIF video recording at 15fps from its 1.3 megapixel fixed focal length camera and multimedia support for a basic media player supporting MP3/WAV/eAAC audio formats and MP4/H.264 video formats.

You also get a stereo FM radio with RDS, broadcast recording and a built-in antenna. You can listen on its stereo speakerphones, go wireless over its Bluetooth A2DP or wired using standard high fidelity headphones plugged to its 3.5mm audio jack.

Internal memory storage on the LG GS200 gets a phonebook capacity for up to 1,000 entries with Photocall and call records for up to 50 dialed, received and missed calls each. There’s also a microSD external memory expandability up to 8 GB. You get 6 hours of talk time, 550 hours of standby time and up to 14 hours of music playback time on a standard 1100 mAh Li-Ion battery on a full charge.

It comes preloaded with the standard phone apps as well as a WAP 2.0 HTML web browser and email client support. This is not a social networking handset so don’t expect any of those fancy SNS apps that promise instant access and updating to your favorite SNS and media sharing sites.
