Why compare with us?

In a word or two

A good looking Android smartphone, the LG GW620 delivers on style and functionality.

The Design

Similar in design to the LG GW520, the LG GW620 is encased in a smooth, black exterior. Its touchscreen measures 3 inches and offers clear images and a responsive touch control. The look is neat and modern, with only 3 buttons under the screen for dialling, call ending and main navigation. Volume level control and the option to expand on the phone’s internal memory with a microSD card slot are situated on the side of the phone.

The QWERTY keyboard which slides out from the LG GW620 is very user-friendly, with five rows of buttons, including a row of number keys, all well spaced.

Specifications

The LG GW620 is the first mobile phone from LG to be run on the Android operating system and boasts some impressive features. You can transfer data and files quickly and easily between the phone and other devices such as other mobiles, a computer or a printer. The high speed transfer can be done using the micro USB connection of the LG GW620 or its Bluetooth feature.

The phone offers fast internet connection and the screen makes for easy viewing. The decent size of the touchscreen, good image quality, and auto rotate feature which allows you to view the screen horizontally or vertically, means you can navigate web pages effortlessly and view them clearly.

Like other LG 3G mobile phones such as the LG BL20 Chocolate, the LG GW620 comes with a 5 megapixel camera inbuilt. You can zoom in on images using the digital zoom, automatically focus as well as edit photos for crystal clear pictures. There is also a video recording function on the phone which lets you record, edit, playback, store and share footage. With push email supported along with text and multimedia messaging, you can easily forward your photos via text or email.

The sliding keyboard is great for fast texting or emailing, or you can use the touchscreen keyboard to type messages.

Considerations

The touchscreen is responsive and allows for a pleasant experience. With the 5-row slide-out keyboard, you get the best of both worlds and can choose to type lengthier or speedier messages on the keyboard. The LG GW620 comes with an auto rotate screen, similar to the screen on the iPhone 3G S.

Verdict

The LG GW620 phone looks good and functions well. Google’s Android platform makes the phone easy to navigate and supports lifestyle features such as the push email service so you can send, receive and open emails on the move.
