LG InTouch Max GW620 deals on contract

LG GW620 deals

The 2nd largest Korean phone maker LG Electronics debuts in the Android community with its first smartphone running the Android 1.5 Cupcake OS – the LG InTouch Max GW620. It is available at a mere £20 a month on a 2-year contract with unlimited data from T-mobile as well as from Virgin Media for £22 a month on a shorter 18-month contract with unlimited text and data. You get three color choices – black, gray and blue.

Smart Feature Set

Also known as the LG Eve and LG LinkMe in other markets, the InTouch Max is housed in a full QWERTY side slider form factor on stylishly elegant body measuring a somewhat bulky 109 x 54.5 x 15.9mm at 139 grams. But underneath all that heft is a feature pack that may not be outstanding, but is par for the course among competent upscale Android smartphones in its class like the Motorola Droid.

Hardware wise, it’s a 3G on the dual band UMTS with HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA at 2 Mbps for high speed internet access that gives messaging and social networking activities a no-wait online experience. As a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, you get to use anywhere on the 2G network. There’s also WiFi 802.11n/g for hotspot internet surfing, SatNav functionality with Assisted GPS and local data connectivity options like Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless and microUSB 2.0 for wired data synching.

It images with a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, image stabilization, geo-tagging and an impressive 30fps. Its multimedia gets audio and video players for the common media file codecs, stereo FM and stereo listening options on wireless A2DP or wired using its 3.5mm audio jack.

There’s a modest 150 MB phone memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB using its microSD slot. Its powerful 1500 mAh lithium-polymer battery allows up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 600 hours on standby when fully charged.

20,000 Apps

As LG’s answer to the emerging Android-run smartphones, the LG InTouch Max GW620 now opens to its customers what LG could not do before and in the worlds of Sales and Marketing Director John Barton, it ends its “expensive and exclusive applications” for mobile phones with an “impressive 20,000 plus applications which are easy to download, and of which 65% are free – and this selection is growing every day.” In addition, the InTouch Max get preloaded with a document viewer for PDF and common MS Office files as well as WAP 2.0 HTML browser, IM and Push email client apps.
