The world’s leader in mobile phones Nokia is expanding its presence in the CDMA markets, notably in vast Chinese mobile phone landscape. The Finnish mobile phone giant confirms its commitment to CDMA mobile standards with handsets like the Nokia 3806.
It forms part of a stable of affordable handsets that go beyond the basic entry level category but not in the same league as its more upscale Nokia 6316.
It sports a conventional candybar form factor that has launched many mobile phone makers to where they are today. The 3806 is essentially a basic mobile communications device updated with the versatile features for the 21st century that markets everywhere have come to expect.
It even comes with a nod to the fashion-centric crows with a stylish body trimmed with silver subtleties framing the edges to impart a classy façade and even comes in black, pure white and rose gold body colors.

The 3806 is a modest unassuming handset that has a smallish 2.2-inch LCD TFT screen with QVGA resolution and has no pretense to having cutting edge features even if it takes a nod to many features now taken for granted even in the cheapest entry level handsets.

Imaging gets a rudimentary 2 megapixel fixed focus camera that supports video recording in the same QVGA resolution at a maximum of 15fps frame rate. Not bad, if you just want to take sudden snapshots with small file sizes you can send easily via MMS.
Entertainment down the road gets the same competent Nokia media players for some of the more popular audio and video file formats. Multimedia files won’t get into its minimal phone memory but you get microSD external memory expandability for up to 4GB though the more common 8GB microSD cards in the market should be no problem being recognized.
As a basic handset, there’s no 3G or WiFi on the Nokia 3806 but you get local high speed data connectivity with Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR to support wireless data syncing and transfers with similar Bluetooth devices.
One other significant feature of the handset comes with its preloaded Health Assistant application that contains a database of common health and medical problems users and their families can refer to when occasioned for it.
You don’t get this facility in many handsets. It also comes with the usual complement of apps and games that make the handset interesting to use outside of its basic mobile telephony.
