Overall
If you find yourself using your current phone´s mapping and navigation functions more often than you´d expected, or if your phone has nothing like that and you realise you need it, then the 6710 Navigator could be just what you need. There´s simply no better phone out there for this kind of thing. Featuring a screen large enough to display Nokia´s wonderfully simple maps as clearly as possible, and all the localised information and pre-loaded maps you could hope for, you´ll never, ever get lost again!

Navigation Features:
Details
As you can see from the list above, the 6710 ticks just about every possible box when it comes to the mapping and navigation features included as standard. Probably the most useful (and most used) will be the pedestrian guidance system. This allows you to plan out turn-by-turn routes for you whether you´re in the city, park land or anywhere else. The highly detailed maps will not only direct you along roads and streets, but also walkways through fields and anywhere else designated as suitable for pedestrians. This feature also works in conjunction with the integrated digital compass, meaning that even if you get confused and start spinning around, you´ll always know which way you´re facing and can quickly get back on track.
The phone can also be used in cars and other modes of wheeled transport, a feature made especially useful thanks to the included car holder that comes with every handset. Although the screen might not be as big as some GPS navigation systems out there, it´s still plenty big enough to keep half an eye on where you´re going, and will be particularly useful if you´ve someone in the passenger seat.
All this mapping goodness comes of course through Nokia Maps, here in v3.0. If you´ve never used it before you´re in for a treat, because it´s about as simple, intuitive and easy to learn as you could hope for.
Aside from all this, the 6710 is also a more than decent phone in its own right. With a 5MP still camera, video recording capabilities, a music player and very decent web browsing options, you´ll find yourself using this with pleasure even when you´re not trying to find your way home.
Conclusion
Although, as the name suggests, this phone prides itself on everything it can do to help you find your way through the world, the 6710 shouldn´t be dismissed as nothing but a mapping phone. It more than holds its own in just about every other function it offers to.
So, if you need mapping navigation in your life regularly, then look no further. If you need them only occasionally, then this could still well be a very decent choice for you indeed.
