Why compare with us?

Introduction

The relatively new Nokia 7070 Prism is a very, very basic mobile phone which was made specifically to show off its design which is very geometric and stylish. This is a fashion phone from Nokia and as long as you remember that you won’t be too shocked to hear that the features are literally calling and texting and that’s it. No camera, no 3G, no fancy GPS, no media or music player – no nothing. Just calling, texting and a few games – it’s literally an “old skool” phone which offers the very basic features of mobile phones – no bells and whistles; it’s simply a mobile phone.

Specifications

As we’ve just said, this phone has very few features and is a very basic model which offers the simple luxuries of being able to call and text people wherever you have signal. The phone does have a few extras such as a calendar and a calculator as well as having built in hands free. The phone also has a T9 dictionary for texting which gives you predictive text output. You can also use the phone to play the odd game here and there which is always a laugh or it simply keeps you entertained on the bus journey home or wherever you’re off to.

The Nokia 7070 Prism has a very geometric design and is very stylish and we think that’s the major selling point of this phone. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but it’ll certainly turn heads. It’s simple, stylish and doesn’t have the risks of high quality technology attached. Nothing is going to crash or freeze, purely because there is barely anything on the phone that could crash or freeze. The phone does have Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging which could come in handy for the odd user but other than that it’s simply calling and texting that this phone is good at.

Overall, the features of the Nokia 7070 Prism may be very limited but that’s what some people want so we say hats off to Nokia for actually catering to the people who just want a mobile phone to make calls and send texts. A lot of people have separate cameras and MP3 players so don’t need the added extras on most mobile phones these days so it’s nice to see a mobile phone that has been made purely to do what a mobile phone should do, which is send and receive texts and make and receive phone calls.

Looks

In terms of looks, the Nokia 7070 Prism has a great look to it and although it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea it’ll certainly be a phone that’ll turn heads and receive compliments. It has a geometric design which is on a flip phone device which looks great when closed and open. The phone’s screen is about 1.8 inches which is small but perfectly adequate for what this phone can do. The handset itself measures in at about 87.5mm by 44mm by 15.8mm so it’s quite small and compact for a flip phone. It weighs about 78 grams which is very lightweight and that’s great because it won’t weigh you down.

The phone has a very unique look to it and will probably be very popular because of this. A lot of people who want such a basic phone will want a good looking phone and they’ll get that if they buy this handset. It’s a fashion phone so it’s expected to be stylish and we think it’ll definitely please a lot of people. All in all, the looks of this phone are great and they’re nice and stylish and unique which is good. The phone is available in two colours; black with a pink accent or black with a blue accent.

Design

In terms of design, there isn’t much to discuss because the phone is so simple. All the features work well and there isn’t an over the top operating system or user interface which might have problems so it’s pretty safe in terms of software problems. The phone has a nice design on the exterior and is the second of the Prism phones to have been released by Nokia. The first was a candy bar design and it’s nice to see that this geometric design can work on a flip phone as well as a classic shape phone.

Overall

All in all, the Nokia 7070 Prism is a great looking phone which is very unique and stylish and as a fashion phone it definitely fits the bill. The features are nice and basic and for people who don’t want all the bells and whistles of the latest smart phones it’s an ideal device. The most basic of features included on this phone are great and they all work very well together. The price, as you’ve probably guessed, is great as well and you’re looking at about £30-40 on PAYG and definitely free on contract on almost all networks.

The phone’s features may be really basic and simple but that’s the idea. This phone was designed to be a simple and stylish phone for users who don’t want fancy features such as GPS, a camera and high speed internet. This phone is supposed to cater to people who already have a digital camera, MP3 player and laptop or PC for their other needs and simply want a mobile phone that’ll make calls and send texts and do what a mobile phone was originally designed to do. We think Nokia has done an incredible job with this phone and it’ll probably be quite popular with basic users.

Overall, the Nokia 7070 Prism is a fantastic phone in our opinion and if you’re the type of mobile phone user who literally wants a mobile phone to make calls and send texts then we’d highly recommend this phone to you. It’s simple, classic and stylish and as a fashion phone it’s very unique and will catch people’s eyes. It’s a great phone and shouldn’t be looked down on just because it’s lacking in features – remember, that’s the point with this phone – it was specifically designed to be simple and basic and we think it’s great.
