It seems like a new Android phone is released almost every day and while there are plenty to choose from they pretty much all come with a full touchscreen design. This can be great for games and apps and even watching videos, but for things like typing it can be less than ideal for many phone users. Because of this there have not been many Android phones to choose from for people who like to have a physical means of typing messages and emails. The Orange Barcelona is one of the phones that are starting to buck the trend, by offering excellent Android features and a more physical means of interaction.

The Barcelona is in keeping with Orange´s tradition of releasing phones named after famous cities, and includes a 2.6" touchscreen, a compact QWERTY keyboard and runs on Android Froyo. The Barcelona is a great phone for messaging and also comes with HD voice calls, providing the highest quality talking experience (provided that the person you are phoning also has HD voice). Also included is a signal booster and video calling that give it an edge over other phones in the same section of the market.

The phone is excellent for people who send a lot of messages and emails or spend a lot of time updating their status on Facebook, as the QWERTY keypad included is much easier to type with than a touchscreen. You can partake of these online features and many others thanks to the inclusion of 3G and Wi-Fi allowing you online access in all conceivable situations.

You can also have fun with apps and games available from Orange App Store and you are also granted access to Orange Maps. The Barcelona includes support for picture messaging and video messaging and also allows you to capture videos through its 3 megapixel camera. For entertainment purposes there is a media player and an FM radio and the phone includes a loud speaker or you can pop in some headphones through the 3.5mm headphone socket.

All in all the Barcelona is a fantastic affordable Android much like its highly popular San Francisco sibling, although it comes with a newer version of Android and is more suited to people who do a lot of typing, either through messages, emails or social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
