Sagem Puma Phone deals on contract
It was bound to happen sooner or later – a famous sports brand teeming up with telecoms and mobile phone maker for a synergistic market presence – that’s the Sagem Puma Phone. It’s a lightweight feature phone that boasts some eco-friendly features that should appeal to sports aficionados taking the save-the-planet movement seriously.
Its body gets a solar cell panel for a battery back cover and comes preloaded with a digital stopwatch, pedometer, bike tracker and run tracker that let users make use of their sporting gears, specially their running shoes which the phone makers hope would be a Puma, of course. It even comes in what they call an Eco-friendly box that sees more recycled paper stuff.
Sporty Midrange Features
Apart from its eco-friendly features you can brag about, the Puma Phone hardware specs comprise a typical midrange feature phone. It does exude a unique look on a curvaceous and elegantly styled touchscreen monolithic case measuring a compact 102 x 56 x 13 mm and weighing just 115g.
Other than that, the Puma Phone gets the usual tri band GSM (900/1800/1900) radio with class 12 GPRS/EDGE speeds on the 2G network and a dual band UMTS (900/2100) on 3G with HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA at 2.9 Mbps data connectivity for high speed internet access.

The Sagem Puma Phone comes with a 2,8-inch TFT LCD resistive touchscreen display with QVGA resolution and 256k colors with a gravity accelerometer for auto rotate viewing. Its imaging gets a 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera with 6x digital zoom, LED flash, geo tagging and video recording and video streaming with progressive video downloading online.
It also gets a secondary VGA camera to support video chat online and 3G video calls. Its multimedia entertaining abilities starts with a built-in stereo FM radio with RDS and the usual media playback for MP3/WMA/eAAC+ audio file codecs and MP4/H.263/H.264 video files. Its A2DP supports wireless stereo headphones and a 3.5mm audio port allows wired Hi-Fi headsets.
Internal memory isn’t much but you get microSD external memory expandability up to 8GB and it comes with a 2 GB microSD card in its retail eco-friendly box. A slim 880 mAh Li-Ion battery gets you up to 5 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 350 hours in standby. It also supports up to 5 hours of video and 24 hours of audio playback times as well as 140 minutes of video call on 3G.
