The world’s second largest mobile phone maker Samsung markets its first dual SIM feature phone in the touchscreen monoblock bar form factor that looks so much like the Samsung Preston and has similar features but without 3G.

The Samsung B5722 measures a not-so-slim 104 x 54.8 x 14.4 mm body weighing a light enough 105 grams and comes in two body colors of dark brown and elegant pink. Dual SIM phones have been in the market from other phone makers, usually from China brands and they have been quite popular among users who would have to carry two phones, one for office use and another for personal use.

This is just a 2G handset that facilitates international roaming with a quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) on the 2G network. There’s no WiFi for high speed hotspot internet surfing but it has class 10 GPRS/EDGE data connectivity speeds of up to 236.8 Kbps that’s often enough for acceptable internet surfing speeds. Its second SIM gets a dual band GSM (900/1800) radio also on 2G and also benefits from the same data connectivity speeds while both are active simultaneously.

The B5722 measures 104 x 54.9 x 14.4 mm which accommodates a respectable 2.8" QVGA TFT LCD screen with capacitive touchscreen technology and supports 256k colors. As in other Samsung handsets, this comes with TouchWiz 2.0 UI. Its fixed focus digital camera comes with a typical 3.2 megapixel resolution and LED flash as well as QVGA video recording at 15fps.

Multimedia features start with a stereo FM receiver with RDS and Fm recording. You get an audio playback support for audio files in the MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ file codecs and video playback support for video files in the MP4/H.263/H.264 file formats. It comes with the DNSe (Dynamic Natural Sound engine) for stereo widening and surround sound audio enhancement. Stereo listening is supported by its Bluetooth A2DP support for wireless stereo earphones.

The Samsung B5722 comes with a nearly negligible 30 MB of onboard memory storage but it gets a phonebook capacity for up to 1,000 contact entries. It comes preloaded with Google Talk, a WAP 2.0 web HTML, IM and email client support. There’s a microSD slot for memory expansion of up to 8 GB. Talk time is a modest 4.5 hours and standby times of up to 400 hours with its standards Li-In batter rated at 1200 mAh on a full charge.
