Why compare with us?

The Samsung F110 MiCoach, also known as the Adidas MiCoach is a brand new phone from Samsung which was released in May of this year (2008). The phone is designed to aid in health and fitness and can measure calories burned, stride, distance and speed and heart rate in order to help you keep up a good fitness regime. This phone also has a 2 mega pixel camera which allows you to take photos and record video. The phone is also equipped with the internet which allows you to send and receive emails so you can keep in touch in more ways than just texting and calling.

Specifications

The features of this phone are pretty incredible and offer a health enthusiast a nice way to enjoy a fitness regime. The phone has a monitor for various measurements such as distance, speed, calories, stride and even heart rate so you can make the most out of your work out. The phone is also able to manage a fitness plan for you and you can see the results as you progress. This range of features on this phone are ideal for someone who is looking to keep fit or who already has a fitness regime that needs a little organizing; the phone is perfect for health and fitness enthusiasts.

The phone also has a 2 mega pixel camera which allows you to take photos and record video and the phone even has a picture editing application so you can make some funky photos on your phone. The phone is equipped with a USB cable which allows you to transfer files to and from your PC and phone. The high quality features on this phone are great and they have various uses for personal and business consumers. For example, the phone has email facilities so you can check your emails while on the go which is great if you have popped out of the office for a jog at lunch!

The phone also has some good entertainment features which allow you to enjoy your workout time such as the MP3 player. You can listen to music while you are working out using the MP3 player which is great fun and you can store a reasonable amount of songs on the phone because there is 1GB of embedded memory. The phone also has an organiser which contains a calendar, memos and to do lists so you can keep track of your life.

Looks

The looks of this phone are good and I have to say it is pretty stylish and has the Adidas logo on the front as well as Samsung. At the moment the phone is only available in Black but that’s ok as Black usually goes with everything and it compliments the style of the sleek phone. The phone is a slide phone and is smooth and slim line so isn’t too big or small. The phone itself is 101.5mm by 45mm by 14.5 mm in dimensions and only weighs 80 grams so is pretty small for a phone with such great features. The texture of the phone is a little weird but I guess that has something to do with the heart rate monitor in the health and fitness features.

The phone is ideal in terms of looks and isn’t too heavy so when you’re jogging or running you won’t feel weighed down by the phone which is very important. The phone has a good look to it and I’d say that if you’re looking for a stylish phone then you won’t need to look much further – ok, so it’s not amazing and it doesn’t scream sophistication but it’s practical and still looks good as a mobile phone.

Design

The design of the internal features of this phone is good and you can expect some compliments when you’re using the phone. The applications appear to work well together and I can’t see any glitches or problems with any of the software. I’d say it is very well designed and you’ll be able to enjoy all the features and the applications. You’ll also be able to use the features together and you can use the MP3 player while you’re jogging or running which is good and the phone won’t have any problems with the shock of you running with the phone.

Overall

All in all, I really like this phone and I’d say that the high quality features and the high quality design really make this phone ideal for any user – and especially so for users who like to keep fit or are looking to start a healthy eating and exercise plan. The health management plan feature is great and allows you to make a profile so you can keep track of your calories, exercise and health. The phone’s other features such as the MP3 player make the phone good for entertainment purposes as well and the business features are good as well.

The phone has a lot to offer but I will say that I think the other features are a bit basic. The camera is only 2 mega pixels and I feel they could have pushed to a 3 or even 5 mega pixel camera to make the phone a lot more appealing. Using the phone purely for fitness regimes seems a little unrealistic and adding a few more entertainment features wouldn’t be that much of an effort. Having said that, Samsung have a variety of entertainment phones already available so maybe they felt it was unnecessary to create a phone with more entertainment features when the emphasis is on health and fitness.

Over all I feel that the phone is a great phone and is stylish as well, I’m just not sure it’s something that everyone would want from their mobile phone. The features are well thought out and work well so if you’re a health enthusiast and you like working out then this phone could be for you. Perhaps as a work phone for a personal trainer it could be even better thanks to the email facility – all in all, it’s a great phone and I would recommend it to health enthusiasts.
